The Philips Learning Center offers pediatric nursing courses focused on your specialized educational needs. Our growing catalog of NICU nursing and pediatric nursing education includes vital and timely information on topics such as:

  • Pediatric Palliative Care Series. Course 1: Understanding Aspects of Pediatric Palliative Care. An introductory course to pediatric palliative care. Includes a conceptual definition of palliative care, the team members who provide it and, most importantly, the children and families who require this specialized care due to life threatening and/or life limiting illnesses.
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is essential that pediatric nurses be able to provide knowledgeable support and information to individuals with ASD and their families. This course will differentiate between mental retardation and developmental disabilities; describe the neurological system and autism spectrum disorders; present possible causes of ASD; identify developmental conditions frequently associated with ASD; and discuss current treatment strategies and the impact of ASD on the quality of life.
  • Kangaroo Care: Positive Touch in the NICU. Benefits detailed in this interactive learning course range from cardio-respiratory stability; protected thermoregulation; enhanced sleep patterns; and decreased hospital stay.

For license renewal or professional development, we offer pediatric and NICU nurses with high quality, accredited, and non-accredited nursing courses that help you provide your patients with quality care during the critical growth years.

Online nursing continuing education can help improve job satisfaction, increase confidence, and enhance the care you provide to younger, developmentally challenged or terminally ill patients. + Register today
