Course: Dental Professional Courses

Module: Pediatric Dentistry: The First Visit

Module Description: The focus of this presentation is the new patient examinations for pediatric patients. It aims to expand the knowledge of what to expect during these visits and how to execute them effectively, based on the revised AAPD guidlelines (2016).

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course the participants will be able to:

1. Discuss what the first visit entails and understand its importance
2. Identify differences between patients first dental visits at various ages
3. Explain when to recommend a first visit and describe the elements of it
4. Integrate ways to overcome a variety of different challenges you may be faced with during a patient's first dental visit

Dr. Fried earned his BA at Manhattanville College in 2008 and then attended NYU dental school. During this time, he found his passion for treating children and was inspired to specialize in this field. Jake has a wife and two daughters who keep him happily occupied when he is not working at NYU.
