Module Description:
Audience: Radiologic Technologists
Prerequisite: None
Discover the evolution of diagnostic medical imaging equipment and expand your knowledge of the advantages, disadvantages and potential future uses for each modality when it comes to 2-D, 3-D and even 4-D images. This module will teach you to differentiate between planes of the body, name external landmarks and major body cavities, list organs and systems, and describe joint classifications.


Sectional Anatomy Essentials Module 1: Introduction is the first in a series of nine modules.


Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this module, the participant will be able to:
• Differentiate between the sagittal, coronal, axial and oblique planes of the body.
• Name the external landmarks of the body in the head, neck and torso.
• Name the major body cavities and list the organs and systems located in each cavity. • Describe joint classification.
• Identify the different types of diagnostic medical imaging and list their uses, advantages and disadvantages.
