The business of orthodontics is booming. As dental professionals it is imperative we understand our role in the orthodontic assessment process. Being prepared allows the dental professional to initiate conversations and identify the need for orthodontic intervention to enhance oral health for a lifetime. A clear understanding of the orthodontic process provides an opportunity to minimize adverse treatment outcomes. The opportunities to collaborate with your orthodontic community will promote practice and patient relationships as well as contributing to practice success.

This evidence based webinar supports the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills for the orthodontic patient evaluation and referral.

About the author:

Lisa Copeland:

Lisa Communicates to motivate throughout the world. She is a graduate of Broome Community College, NY with twenty-eight years of clinical practice experience. Her career began in the Center for Osseointegration in Washington DC, which specialized in dental implants and prosthetics. She is an active member of the ICOI and ADIA, two organizations dedicated world class education pertaining to dental implants.

As an international speaker and educational consultant for over twenty-five years, Lisa has presented a wide range of topics to audiences throughout the world. She is a committed board member of the NSA, National Speakers Association, which promotes the highest standards of professional speaking partnered with lifelong learning.

After working in Singapore for five years, Lisa relocated to Washington State where she currently practices. She is also the Professional Education Manager in the NW for Philips Sonicare / Zoom.

Susan Woodley:

Susan Woodley RDH graduated from Fanshawe College in London Ontario Canada and has realized a successful career expanding three decades. She’s enjoyed many aspects of her role as a dental hygienist involving clinical research, general practice, teaching, writing and professional education, though the better part of her career has been practicing in orthodontics. 

She was a faculty member at the local college, both didactic and clinical for many years. Susan developed and presents workshops in Orthodontics as well as presenting an Oral Pathology course.

Susan completed a five year term as President of her local Dental Hygienists’ Society and has enjoyed an active role with the executive for many years. She participates in two study clubs and continues to practice clinically part-time.

Susan is Manager of Professional Education for Ontario and Canada West with Philips North America. She resides in London, Ontario with her husband Bob. They are the proud parents of two married children, living in Kelowna and Australia respectively. Bob and Susan are delighted with the new arrival of their Granddaughter in Kelowna and are excited about the addition of an Australian Grandchild in the fall of 2015.
