Module Description:
This lecture is the last in the series on Cardiovascular Electrophysiology (EP). This course is approved for 1.5 Category A Continuing Education credits.
OBJECTIVES
• The objective of this presentation will be to instruct those interested in the mechanism of AV node reentry tachycardia and how to distinguish this tachycardia from other SVT by electrogram recognition as well as pacing maneuvers.
• We will concentrate on the types of requirements that are necessary for this tachycardia and how it differs form other possible atrial tachycardias.
• We will also explain the target for the termination and cure of this tachycardia with radiofrequency ablative techniques.
• In addition, we will explain the anatomy and physiology of the tachycardia as well as review which pacing maneuvers will eliminate the doubts of being other forms of SVT such as bypass tracts.
