Course Information

Course: ASRT Authored Courses, Radiology-Departmental Topics

Module: The Radiographer’s Role in Optimizing Computed and Digital Radiography Exams

Module Description: As hospital and imaging departments replace conventional film-screen imaging with computed radiography or digital radiography, greater emphasis is placed on balancing radiation exposure and quality imaging. Radiographers already have the basic knowledge and experience needed to succeed with these digital techniques. The next step in optimizing common procedures is up to you. Author Robin Anderson, B.A., explains why many believe that this digital revolution is contributing to a “dose creep,” and offers insight into how radiographers can help reduce radiation exposure and ensure quality medical images.
